On Wednesday 28 March 2018, Infrabel and TUC RAIL organised a joint press conference to highlight the restart of the Brussels Regional Express Network project. This symbolic event took place in the immediate vicinity of Hoeilaart station. The press and the political world were invited to witness the restart of the project. TUC RAIL was represented by CEO Jochen Bultinck and some of the members of the RER-team.
Philippe DENAYER, Project Leader, gives explanations to S
ophie DUTORDOIR, CEO of the SNCB, Didier REYNDERS, Deputy Prime Minister,
Charles MICHEL, Prime Minister, and François BELLOT, Federal Minister of Mobility.
Although the press event marks the official relaunch of the RER project, TUC RAIL has already carried out certain activities, especially for the commissioning of the new track A-161A above the Hoeilaart ring road. Last weekend, the teams track, catenary and signalling of TUC RAIL were on site to carry out a track deviation near Groenendaal. As a consequence, the route section was operated in single-track service throughout the weekend.
